Fernando Monje (BMW) returns to podium

Paul Ricard (France), June 5, 2016.- Extraordinary final result for the pair formed by Fernando Monje Spanish and Colombian Gustavo Yacamán that the wheel of the BMW M6 GT3 BMW Team No. 2 Teo Martin, concluded the race the International GT Open at Paul Ricard in 2nd absolute position, equaling the result achieved in the first competition of the season, held in Estoril.

In the fast corners, Monk is clearly separated from his pursuers, while the slowest area these approached him.

On Lap 13 Caldarelli managed to slip through the inside Monk and the chic & basic had to defend tooth and nail attacks Babini and Keen, but pitted on lap 15 for replacement tires and driver change in 5th. Yacamán was joining the race and could leave the pits room, so it was a leader of the group headed by Fabrizio Crestani and Shaun Balfe. With fresh tires, Colombian performing a good deal in his first laps at the wheel of the M6, also approaching Piergiuseppe Perazzini, which gave scope but Crestani, who was glued to Gustavo, could be the last place on the podium less than a fifteen minutes of the checkered flag.

The final part of the race would not live stages of excitement about the position of the BMW # 2, but not in front of the race with an unexpected touch and track output of the first two at the time, so unless minute and a half to finish the competition, Gustavo Yacamán amounted to a valuable 2nd place finish, while Miguel Ramos came in with the other unit of the BMW M6 Team Teo Martin in 8th place.

Fernando Monje: 'Finally back on the podium! Today we were able to make a career with more pace than yesterday. It was not make errors because Paul Ricard is not a very suitable circuit for our car, mainly due out a little late. We were first in the chasing group and at the end there has been a stroke of luck and have finished on the podium, which repays us of the misfortune of the previous two races. Now it work and prepare for Silverstone, there are many days and that is a more favorable track. Much remains championship and the goal of a win every time is closer.'

The International GT Open will pause now a long month. 23 and July 24 will be held the fourth event in Silverstone.
