The Colombian entered pits for driver change in fourth place, although the application of 15 'handicap because of the victory in the final round at the Red Bull Ring, penalized the duet and Monk came back to the race and in eighth position.

However, with new tires, Monk quickly reached a rapid pace that allowed him to win two track position well into the test, and in the closing stages, fellow squad Miguel Ramos who fought for the podium was passed by three riders, including the Monk himself, who took the opportunity very well and got some valuable points for fighting for the positions of honor in the championship with a race, the morning that Monje-Yacamán develop without handicap.

"Monza is a track that I love; I have always gone well run here, in any of the specialty in which I have visited the track that has few secrets for me. For this reason and for the fact that tomorrow will go out to the Qualifying with new covers and without being conditioned by any handicap not being the case of some of our main rivals, I think we can aspire again to a good starting position, we will defend with Gustavo to return to the podium, "explained Fernando satisfied at the end of the race.
